Cool objects of art made from recycled computer parts

Welcome to my collection of art made with recycled computer parts.

I hope you will enjoy browsing through the photo gallery which focuses on compact mechanical models. While the pictures will give you an impression of the shapes, the pieces of artwork in this eco-friendly collection are much more fun in real life.

Several years ago I started using old computer parts to create interesting and unusual wall displays and other objects. More recently, I drew my inspiration from the world of vehicles – classical motor cars, cool motor bikes and even the lunar rover. These objects form the core of the collection presented here.

The models range in size. Each one of them would make a distinctive living-room display and be a guaranteed talking point.

Recycling discarded computer parts from my office, by turning them into various imaginative objects is my current preoccupation. I use what is unwanted or obsolete to create intriguing shapes and forms in the way that other artists might use more conventional art materials.

I take great pleasure in conceptualising, arranging and modifying the configurations of many small parts until – like a puzzle – they all slot into place, reflecting perfectly my initial vision, or revealing one of their own.

This process is not entirely dissimilar to one of my other great passion – crafting highly individual record players. The upmarket Quasar turntables, which attracted  favourable reviews in hi-fi magazines and featured on ITVs Big Breakfast show, are just another way of animating the inanimate for aesthetic pleasure.
